Cherokee Concert with Agalisiga "Chuj" Mackey & Kalyn Fay

Agalisiga "Chuj" Mackey writes and sings original country-folk music and has performed at various events including the Cherokee National Holiday and the grand opening of the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, OK. His goal is to perpetuate the Cherokee language and culture. Mackey is an adult language student through the Cherokee Language Master Apprenticeship program. 

Kalyn Fay's music centers Indigenous and decolonial methodologies, focusing on self-location, community building, collaboration, and empathy through the use of music, storytelling, and contemporary craft. Kalyn also sings in Cherokee and uses Cherokee syllabary in song and album titles.

Both artists will join MHC in the morning to talk about their songwriting, their Cherokee culture, and maybe sing a little too.

Then join them again in the evening at 6:30pm for a full concert with the community. A link will be added to buy tickets through NACF.
